SIGNING: Young Scot Kelly Clan bound

The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, are delighted to announce the signing of Scottish defenceman Reece Kelly for the 2023/24 season.
The 22-year-old from Fife becomes the fourth Scotsman to join the roster and signs from NIHL side Bristol Pitbulls, where he played last season along with Cardiff Devils in a two-way deal.
And Kelly explained the locality of the move was a big draw as he looks ahead to the next phase of his career.
“I’m looking forward to the new season,” he said. “The roster looks good with so many great players on it and living an hour from Glasgow, I know all about the passion the fans have and how great the city is.

“I’m also looking forward to experiencing it all first hand, plus I have family in the Glasgow area so being so close makes it an ideal move for me.
“I’m excited to get started and I’m counting the days until I can get together with the team and get to work.”
Kelly made only nine appearances for the Devils last season, picking up one assist, but spent a large part of the season at NIHL side Pitbulls, where he made 71 appearances, scoring nine goals and making 31 assists for 40 points.
Prior to that, he had spells in Finland with IPK’s Under 20’s side and a year in Norway with Stavanger Oilers’ Under 21 side.
Clan’s head coach Jason Morgan has high hopes for the Scot and is keen to see him progress under him in Glasgow.

“I’m excited to get the opportunity to work with Reece, a young Scottish player who will get regular shifts and brings added size and a good defensive game,” he said.
“He has a good shot and makes solid first pass decisions. I’m looking forward to building his game to the next level.
“I’m pleased to welcome him to the Clan family.”
Kelly will wear the #27 jersey and joins Robert Lachowicz, Alex Forbes, Ryan Harrison, Jordan Cownie, Gary Haden, Philippe Sanche, Jordan Buesa, Charlie Combs, Jake Kielly, Dyson Stevenson, Antti Karjalainen, Nate Kallen, Bryce Reddick, Cody Sol, Luke Lynch, Jake Bolton and Darien Craighead on the 2023/24 roster.
