Brady Keeper Announces Retirement from Professional Hockey

August 6, 2025

The Glasgow Clan can confirm that Canadian defenceman Brady Keeper has been released from his contract for the 2025/26 season following his decision to retire from professional ice hockey.

Brady originally signed with the Clan in June 2025, marking what was set to be his return to the game after a lower-body injury brought his NHL career with the Vancouver Canucks to an end. Over the past year, he committed to an intensive training and rehabilitation programme in hopes of preparing his body for the demands of a full Elite League season.

Despite his best efforts, the long-term effects of his injury proved too difficult to overcome. Following medical advice and further setbacks during pre-season preparation, Brady has taken the difficult decision to step away from the sport.

Speaking on the news, Head Coach Corey Neilson said:

“Obviously, it’s disappointing news. However, Brady needs to do what’s best for his health, and that means allowing him to step away from the game. We respect his decision and wish him nothing but the best.”

The Glasgow Clan would like to thank Brady for his professionalism throughout the process and wish him a full and healthy recovery as he moves forward into the next chapter of his life.
