Internal Social Media Policy


The purpose of this Social Media Policy is to provide guidelines and expectations for the use of social media by all members, players, staff, and volunteers associated with the Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey Club. This policy aims to promote responsible and respectful behaviour on social media platforms, protect the reputation of the club, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.


1. Professionalism

All social media activity should reflect positively on the Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey Club and its values.

Avoid engaging in arguments, conflicts, or disrespectful behaviour with fans, competitors, officials, or other stakeholders.

Always represent the club in a professional and respectful manner.

2. Confidentiality

Do not share confidential or sensitive information about the club, its operations, players, staff, or any other individuals associated with the organisation.

Respect the privacy of others and refrain from sharing personal information without consent.

Treat others with respect, kindness, and dignity, regardless of differences in opinions, backgrounds, or affiliations.

Avoid posting or sharing content that is offensive, discriminatory, or inflammatory.

  • Ensure that information shared on social media platforms is accurate and reliable.
  • Avoid spreading rumours, false information, or misleading content.

5.  Endorsements and Sponsorships

  • Clearly disclose any endorsements, sponsorships, or partnerships with brands or organisations in accordance with relevant advertising regulations.
  • Refrain from endorsing products or services that may conflict with the interests or values of the Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey Club.

6. Intellectual Property

Consequences of Violations

Violations of this Social Media Policy may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to verbal warnings, written warnings, suspension, or termination, depending on the severity and frequency of the violation. The Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey Club reserves the right to monitor and review social media activity related to the club and take appropriate action as necessary.


By participating in social media activities associated with the Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey Club, all members, players, staff, and volunteers agree to comply with this Social Media Policy and acknowledge that failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
