NEWS: Clan Players Represent on World Stage

The Glasgow Clan would like to extend our warmest congratulations to the Men’s Great Britain Ice Hockey Team, who claimed gold and promotion at the IIHF Division 1A World Championships earlier this month in Romania.
In a flawless campaign, Team GB went undefeated in all five games, securing top spot and punching their ticket back to the top tier of international ice hockey. It was a tournament to remember and the Clan were incredibly proud to see four of our own donning the GB jersey and making their mark on the world stage.
Leading the way was Clan centreman Cade Neilson, who finished the tournament with three points (one goal and two assists) across five games. Neilson’s creativity and drive were on full display throughout the week, proving once again why he’s a vital part of the Clan roster.
Defenceman Joseph Hazeldine made his GB Men’s senior debut and wasted no time in contributing, picking up his first international point with a smart assist in the final game against Poland — a fitting way to close out the tournament.
Goaltender Lucas Brine was also part of the travelling squad, bringing energy and support to the team throughout the week and continuing his development at the international level.
In total, our Clan representatives combined for five points during the tournament — a fantastic return on the global stage.
We’re happy to confirm that Cade Neilson, Joseph Hazeldine, and Lucas Brine will all be returning to Braehead Arena this autumn as they begin the second year of their contracts with the Clan for the 2025/26 EIHL season. Their success in GB colours is a testament to the talent and character we’re building right here in Glasgow.
A huge congratulations to all of Team GB on their gold medal win and well-earned promotion and an extra cheer for our Clan men who did us proud.
