SIGNING: Schwartz extends for season two

April 12, 2025

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the extension of forward Rylan Schwartz’s contract into a second season.

He is the latest player to put pen to paper, and comes hot on the heels of team-mates Deven Sideroff and Steven Seigo, who are also returning.

And the 35-year-old had no hesitation in opting to stay on in Glasgow after a solid first campaign.

“I’ve had a really great year in Glasgow, so deciding to extend my time here was something I was very keen to do,” he said.

“I’ve enjoyed getting to know the city, and this is an organisation that wants to succeed so it made sense for me to want to be part of that.

“It’s been a fun season for sure – playing in that building, hearing the fans every night, and there’s plenty to be excited about.

“I’m delighted to be returning for another season and I’ll be excited to get going again in 2025/26.”

Schwartz has missed only one game in 2024/25, making 67 appearances in all competitions and weighing in with 18 goals and 34 assists so far, for 52 points.

In fact, Schwartz picked up assists on all three goals in Friday’s play-off quarter final first leg win against the Sheffield Steelers, plus he won the Coach’s Player of the Season award earlier this week at the GCA’s.

Prior to coming to Glasgow, Schwartz amassed over nine years and 400 games worth of experience in Germany across DEL and DEL2, not to mention over 100 AHL games to his name.

Head coach Corey Neilson was pleased to get Schwartz signed up and back on board for next season.

“I knew of Rylan’s qualities from my time in Germany, so I was aware of what he would bring to the Elite League, and I’m pleased to see him do as well as he has,” he said.

“Rylan’s greatest offensive ability is his willingness to go to the dirty areas to score.  He’s always there taking away the goalie’s vision and being a presence.  He also kills penalties which makes him a multi-tool player.

“Rylan has tons of experience too, and like many of the players in the room, brings leadership to the group and that’s another important asset.

“He will continue to play a big part in this team next season, and I’m pleased to get him back on board.”

Schwartz will continue to wear the #71 jersey in 2025/26.
