WEEKEND RECAP & WHAT’S AHEAD: CHALLENGE CUP PROGRESSION AND HOME DOUBLEHEADER
It was another busy weekend for the Glasgow Clan, with back-to-back away fixtures that saw the team lock in their Challenge Cup progression and put in another strong performance in league play.
SATURDAY 8 NOVEMBER – DUNDEE STARS (A) | CHALLENGE CUP | 4–2 WIN
The Glasgow Clan cemented their place in the next phase of the Challenge Cup with a well-earned 4–2 victory over the Dundee Stars at the Dundee Ice Arena.
It was a lightning-fast start from the Clan, with Robert Lachowicz opening the scoring less than two minutes in, before Kielb doubled the advantage moments later. The Stars fought back to level things up, but Tristan Langan took control of the game in the final stages, scoring twice to ensure the Clan came away with a crucial win.
The result confirmed the Clan’s progression to the next phase of the Challenge Cup, and following Sunday’s result between the Belfast Giants and Dundee Stars, it was confirmed that the Clan will face the Nottingham Panthers in the Play-In Game at Braehead Arena. Tickets will be available from 4pm on Monday 10 November.
SUNDAY 9 NOVEMBER – GUILDFORD FLAMES (A) | EIHL | 2–3 OT LOSS
Less than 24 hours later, the Clan hit the road again for league action against the Guildford Flames.
Brett Neumann got the visitors off to the perfect start with an early goal, before Jake Coughler equalised for the Flames. Captain Deven Sideroff restored the Clan’s lead shortly after, but Guildford found a way to level the score again, netting the only goal of the second period.
The game pushed into overtime, where Guildford secured the extra point, but it was another strong display from the Clan, showing plenty of determination after a tough travel weekend.
WEEKEND AHEAD AT BRAEHEAD ARENA
It’s shaping up to be a huge weekend at home as the Clan return to Braehead Arena for two themed match nights filled with hockey, remembrance, and community spirit.
FRIDAY 14 NOVEMBER – CARDIFF DEVILS (H) | REMEMBRANCE GAME
The Cardiff Devils make their first visit to Braehead Arena this season for what promises to be a special and emotional evening.
The Clan will honour the occasion with a Remembrance Game, joined by members of the HMS Glasgow Ship’s Company. A minute’s silence will be observed before face-off to pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.
The Clan will take to the ice wearing special edition Remembrance Jerseys, designed in collaboration with the HMS Glasgow Ship’s Company. These game-worn jerseys will be available through a post-game auction in Block M, with all proceeds donated to the Poppy Appeal and Place2Be, the chosen charity of HMS Glasgow.
SUNDAY 16 NOVEMBER – COVENTRY BLAZE (H) | SUPER HERO DAY
Sunday’s home clash brings a different kind of theme — Super Hero Day!
The Clan will hit the ice for warm-up wearing limited edition Super Hero jerseys, available to win through the full-team Shirt Off the Back draw during the game.
Fans can also get involved by nominating their own heroes for recognition on the night. Whether it’s a parent, teacher, nurse, friend or community member, your hero could appear on the big screen during the intermissions.
Nominations open at 3pm on Tuesday 11 November via the Clan Shop and end on Thursday 13 November at 5pm.
Don’t miss two incredible nights of hockey, remembrance and celebration at Braehead Arena.
