The Premier Sports Glasgow Clan picked up a point on the road in a fairly-contested battle with the Guildford Flames which ended in an overtime loss in the EIHL.

Tristin Langan got the first opportunity of the game as he drove to the net front with Rylan Schwartz in tow but Justin Fazio sprung off his line to clear the puck before a shot could be released.

Matt Alvaro put Sami Aittokallio to work at the other end with a quick snap from between the dots which the Finnish netminder had to bat away with his blocker.

Schwartz was then denied by some brilliant goaltending as Miihkali Teppo’s shot rebounded out in front and the #71 turned it back on net but Fazio did well to cover the crease and keep it out.

Langan and Schwartz combined again later in the period and this time it paid off with a stretch pass reaching Langan at the backdoor and he controlled it well before backhanding it high into the Guildford net.

Glasgow’s lead didn’t last five minutes though as Ethan Strang slinged the puck into the slot and it bounced off Colton Poolman to Jake Coughler who tapped it home.

Deven Sideroff put the Clan back in front with just 37 seconds left in the opening period as Brayden Burke passed to the back door and the captain slid into it to force it over the line.

Just as Glasgow scored in the final minute of the first period, Guildford responded in the first minute of the second period with Tyler Busch scoring on the powerplay after 57 seconds.

Fazio and Aittokallio could not be beaten for the remainder of the second period as the teams went back to the dressing room tied at two ahead of the third period.

Jack Jacome had a golden opportunity for the Flames in the final 20 minutes when he received the puck in front of the Clan crease and snapped a shot on net plus the rebound, but Aittokallio managed to get his pads to both efforts.

Josh Nixon got a breakaway chance in the final two minutes of play while on the penalty kill after a misplaced pass by Fram, but again Aittokallio kept it out with his leg pad.

Steven Seigo struck the bar with 42 seconds to go in the game as the sides were forced into overtime where Busch scored his second of the night to claim the extra point for the home team.
