SIGNING: Clan Bolster Offence with Canadian Centreman Hugo Roy

The Glasgow Clan are excited to announce the signing of Canadian forward Hugo Roy from the Nottingham Panthers ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 27-year-old centreman arrives in Braehead after two impressive seasons in the Elite Ice Hockey League with the Panthers, where he tallied a combined 36 goals and 33 assists.
Roy played a key role in Nottingham’s success last season, scoring two crucial goals in the 2024/25 playoffs – contributions that helped the Panthers lift the EIHL Playoff Cup.
Standing at 6ft 1 and hailing from Fleurimont, Quebec, Roy brings a strong two-way game, speed, and a proven ability to contribute offensively. Known for his direct playing style and effectiveness on both the powerplay and penalty kill, he quickly became a standout figure in the league.
Roy also boasts extensive ECHL experience, having suited up for the Kansas City Mavericks, Florida Everblades, and Atlanta Gladiators before making the move to the UK. Check out Roy’s career record on Elite Prospects.
Clan Head Coach Corey Neilson is looking forward to working with Roy and believes the forward will be a major asset this season:
I’ve seen all his games. He has speed to burn, plays a direct game and can be relied upon for both special teams. I thought he was one of the best players in the league two seasons ago, had a fantastic end of last season and I expect big things from him next year.
Roy is equally enthusiastic about the move to Glasgow:
I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Glasgow Clan! Watching from afar over the past two years and hearing from people on the inside, it’s been clear that the vision and direction of the organisation is something special. That made the decision to join an easy one for me, and I can’t wait to be part of it.
Roy will wear #19 this coming season.
