SIGNING: Clan Announce Deven Sideroff

July 24, 2024

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Deven Sideroff for the 2024/25 campaign.

The 27-year-old will move to the Elite League after a season with Czechia side Rytíři Kladno where he made 53 appearances, scoring 10 goals and eight assists for 18 points.

And the centreman, who can also play on the right wing, spoke of his excitement over his latest move and revealed, for him, there will be some familiarity in the Clan locker room.

“I’m delighted to be coming to Clan,” he said.  “I’ve heard so much about the great fans as well as the city, not to mention the great signings we’ve made so far.

“A big reason why I signed was because of the phone call I had with the coach, Corey about the team for this upcoming season.

“I’ve played with Cole Ully in junior hockey as well as knowing a few other players such as Liam Finlay and playing alongside Landon Bow in the previous season.

“I’m looking forward to coming over and getting started soon.”

Before his season in Czechia, Sideroff made 57 appearances for HKM Zvolen in Slovakia, where he contributed with 16 goals and 23 assists in 2022/23, helping them to the play-off final.

He also has recent experience in Sweden (Kristianstads IK) and Austria (HC Innsbruck), not to mention 87 AHL appearances with San Diego Gulls and 18 games in the ECHL with Tulsa Oilers.

Sideroff was also drafted as a round three pick, number 84 overall in the 2015 NHL draft when he was snapped up by Anaheim Ducks.

For the Clan coach Corey Neilson, he admits the signing of Sideroff was one that might have got away, but had some help in achieving it.

“After watching Deven’s games I didn’t think he was an attainable signing for us this season,” he said.

“He is the prototypical power-forward, who skates well and is physical, defensively responsible as well as offensively gifted.

“I want to thank his former team-mate, Landon Bow, for helping us to get him across the line, plus Deven also has a good connection with Cole Ully, who he played with in junior and actually credits Cole for helping him to get drafted to the NHL.”

Sideroff will wear #95 in the new campaign.
