THE WEEK AHEAD: Clan set for Easter triple bill

March 25, 2024

It’s the penultimate weekend of the Elite League regular season and The Week Ahead is extended for an eighth day to cover the three big games coming up for Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West.

The standings don’t lie and if you look, it really is that tight so this next week (and a bit) could really be a defining one for Jason Morgan and his men.

We’ll get into that in a second, but now’s your chance to catch up on what you may have missed in the last few days:

FRIDAY

Glasgow Clan vs Dundee Stars (Elite Ice Hockey League, face off 7:30pm)

It’s another Friday night and that means another visit from Dundee Stars to kick off the weekend and straight away, it’s a huge night in prospect.

Marc LeFevbre’s Stars are the team two points behind in the push for the play-offs and a win in Glasgow would be ideal thing for them to achieve in the night’s only game across the league.

After the 8-5 win for the Clan on Friday there, Dundee will be keen to get those points and with tickets selling really well already, you don’t want to miss this one. It could just be a Good Friday…literally.

SATURDAY

Belfast Giants vs Glasgow Clan (Elite Ice Hockey League, face off 7:00pm)

It’s a final scheduled meeting of the season between these two and Clan go the SSE Arena with positive memories of their last visit to this building, when Cody Sol scored what proved to be the winner in December.

Fast forward three months and the Giants have just seen their title finally wrenched from them, with Sheffield Steelers taking the big prize, and were taken beyond regulation time by Dundee Stars and Fife Flyers at the weekend.

For Clan, it’s another chance to claim points from an unlikely venue and if achieved, could a long way in deciding their end of season fate.

EASTER MONDAY

Nottingham Panthers vs Glasgow Clan (Elite Ice Hockey League, face off 4:00pm)

What a way to finish the Easter weekend as Jason Morgan takes his team to the Motorpoint Arena for a date with the Panthers, whose fate might be a little clearer by Monday.

It’s Bank Holiday action for the two teams, and while Nottingham are still fighting and scrapping to stay in the play-off reckoning, it’s still all to play for.

Can Clan begin April in the best possible way in a building they’ve won and lost in so far this season?  We’ll have to wait and see.
