SIGNING: Simpson signs up for big Clan chance

Glasgow Clan sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West are delighted to announce the signing of netminder Euan Simpson for the new season ahead.
The Kirkcaldy-born goalie is making the step up from the NIHL North, where he played for Solway Sharks last season, into the Premier Sports Elite League.
And he revealed he’s been working away behind the scenes to get himself ready for the rigours of life as a professional goaltender.
“The jump from NIHL is a big one and it’s a massive opportunity for me to be able to play professionally,” he said. “It’s a dream come true, but the hard work is just starting.
“I’ve been preparing during the summer to make myself as ready as possible to play at the higher level and I’m keen to do everything I can to be prepared.
“I’m going to thoroughly enjoy the experience after winning a treble with Solway Sharks and I hope to bring the winning mentality.
“I’m excited to see everyone and while I haven’t experienced Braehead Arena for myself, it sounds great when I watch the highlights and I can’t wait to hear that massive support.”
Simpson arrives in Glasgow after winning three trophies for Martin Grubb’s side last season, including the NIHL North 1 Moralee Conference title.
He made 20 appearances for the Dumfries side after signing from SNL outfit Kirkcaldy Kestrels and before that, turned out for the Fife Falcons in the Under 20 league.
But head coach Malcolm Cameron was taken by Simpson’s positive attitude and work ethic when he spoke to him about the move.
“From my first conversation with Euan, I was excited by his passion and his drive as well as his determination and energy to want to get better every day,” he said.
“When you have a guy with that type of motivation behind him, good things are going to happen.
“We’re pleased to have him on board for the new season and looking forward to seeing constant improvement plus the additional chance to win every night.”
Simpson will wear the #30 jersey for the Clan in 2022/23 and joins John Dunbar, Craig Peacock, Jordan Cownie, Stephen Dixon, Liam Stenton, Gergely Tóth, Zach Driscoll, Gary Haden, Colton Waltz, Steven McParland, Shawn Boutin, Mathieu Roy, Mitch Jones, Jordan Buesa, Harry Ferguson, Kevin Massy and Brad Kennedy on the roster for next season.
