SIGNING: Dyson answers the Clan call

September 25, 2022

The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, are delighted to announce the return of forward Dyson Stevenson to the team.

The 29-year-old will be back in purple after not re-signing during the summer and is excited to play once again for Malcolm Cameron.

His return will be warmly welcomed by the Purple Army, who enjoyed and appreciated his style of play as he wore the #26 for the Clan last season, helping the team to a sixth place.

Head Coach Cameron is delighted to bring back one of his trusted lieutenants and a player with whom he’s worked with before he first came to Scotland last year.

“We’re very excited to add Dyson back into the group this year,” Cameron said. “Dyson provides great leadership, penalty killing ability and he’s tough to play against.

“He has a really high hockey IQ and is a tough player on and off the puck.  He’s someone who grinds games out and wins puck battles, plus sticks up for this team-mates.

“You can’t have enough of that in a hockey club and I’m pleased he’s agreed to return to us this year.”

Stevenson made 42 appearances for the Clan last season, scoring five times and making 15 assists to reach 20 points in his first year with the club.

He is scheduled to arrive in Glasgow later this week, in time for Friday’s Challenge Cup home game at Braehead Arena vs the Belfast Giants (face-off 7.30pm).

Stevenson will return to wearing his #26 jersey this season too.
