SIGNING: Fergie’s time to shine on Clan return

July 4, 2022

Glasgow Clan sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West are delighted to announce the return of Scottish forward Harry Ferguson, becoming the club’s 15th signing of the summer.

The 23-year-old is back for a second season with the club after signing from Milton Keynes Lightning last year.

And as he reflected on last season and looked ahead to the new campaign, Ferguson is counting the days and weeks until his return to Braehead Arena.

“From some of the guys I’ve spoken to and speaking to Malcolm, this year is going to be really exciting,” he said. “Last year, we had our ups and downs, but we seem to be putting together a good team.

“I’m excited to see just how far we can take it and I’m looking forward to meeting the new guys coming in.  There’s always different personalities coming up and get to know everyone.

“As a team, we bonded really well last year and it helped in the tough moments and it’s one of the reasons why I was keen to come back.

“It was an easy decision for me and it was probably the most close-knit locker room I’ve ever been a part of and I can’t wait to be part of it again.”

Ferguson made 54 appearances last season, scoring once in purple to add to his previous EIHL experience with Lightning and Edinburgh Capitals, putting him five appearances away from 200 in all Premier Sports Elite League competition.

Head coach Malcolm Cameron welcomed the Scot back into the fold and revealed his plan for him in the new season.

“We’re pleased to have Harry back in the line-up for next year,” he said. “He’s a big, strong fella and like Jordan Buesa, was a victim of circumstance with the lack of ice time they got.

“This year, we’re anticipating being a four-line team with some energetic guys with good upside.

“Harry possesses a good shot, he’s strong on the puck and it’s my goal to develop him as an everyday player – someone who can play at both ends of the ice.

“He has a great attitude, a great work ethic and he was popular in the locker room too so I’m pleased he’s back with us.”

Harry Ferguson will wear the #41 jersey for the Clan in 2022/23 and joins John Dunbar, Craig Peacock, Jordan Cownie, Stephen Dixon, Liam Stenton, Gergely Tóth, Zach Driscoll, Gary Haden, Colton Waltz, Steven McParland, Shawn Boutin, Mathieu Roy, Mitch Jones and Jordan Buesa on the roster for next season.
