NEWS: Braehead Arena appears on hit BBC show
As Glasgow Clan fans continue to keep their own ‘vigil’ on when they can return to Braehead Arena, viewers of one particular television show got a fleeting reminder of the old place on Sunday.
Viewers of hit BBC drama, Vigil, were treated to a surprising and familiar sight when the arena was featured in a couple of scenes in the conspiracy thriller.
Fans have been gripped as the show, starring former Coronation Street actress Suranne Jones, focuses on the murder of a Navy seaman, played by Martin Compston on board a submarine.
The scenes filmed at Braehead Arena saw DCI Kirsten Longacre, played by Rose Leslie, visiting the office of fictional team “Glasgow Hurricanes” chasing a line of enquiry in relation to the murder and of course, Clan fans weren’t slow in spotting the location.
There was even a still of a Clan game used in one part as well with fans looking to try and spot themselves after it was aired on Sunday.
The scenes were filmed last year after lockdown, with the arena out of use and it was a welcome sight for many counting the days until return.
