GAME PREVIEW: Cameron’s men set for Stormy journey

November 28, 2021

Manchester Storm vs Glasgow Clan

Planet Ice, Altrincham (face off 5.30pm)

Ticket details: Storm vs Clan

Live stream: Manchester Storm TV

In a weekend where we’re catching up with old friends and acquaintances after being back home last night, we’re off to see another old chum in former coach Ryan Finnerty and his Manchester Storm team.

Storm were in Dundee last night and after (RESULT), they’ll be determined to end the weekend with the points to put them in a good mood for the week.

Manchester’s form has been disappointing, with only 6/7 wins in 21 games so far, with six/all of those wins coming at home. Clan certainly won’t have it easy here.

It will also be the first time Clan fans will see Linden Springer, who is back at Manchester after his short-lived retirement and he’ll no doubt look to make his mark on this game.

With physical players on both sides, it could be an explosively absorbing affair. Who comes out with the points though? Well, that’s a different proposition.

You can be sure Finnerty won’t want to see his former team return to Glasgow return home with them, that’s for sure.

WHAT THEY SAY

Manchester Storm head coach Ryan Finnerty:

“Glasgow are a pretty resilient team. They have some veteran, older guys over there who will move the puck around well and make some good plays under pressure.

“They’ve got a big body in the net and they’re well structured. They’ve had some tough road games, but done well in them.

“Everybody’s thinking because they haven’t played, it’s going to be a walk, but that’s not true. As they get more comfortable, it’s not going to take too long for these guys to get into game shape.

“They’re going to get better every week so we should expect a good Glasgow side coming to us on Sunday and be ready for it.”

PLAYER TO WATCH

#9 Adam Brady

Brady may be a newcomer to the Elite League, but he’s certainly taken to it like a duck to water with an impressive tally of points so far in both competitions.

With 22 points in 20 games for the Storm so far, early signs are Ryan Finnerty has unearthed quite the talent as he picks up points here and there and that kind of productivity undoubtedly makes him a threat.

Clan will need to be at their best to silence the 26-year-old, who seems to be doing his best work at home going by his goals record.
