NEWS: Dixon not too high despite weekend success

Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan interim head coach Stephen Dixon is refusing to get carried away after last weekend’s two victories.
Clan defeated Fife Flyers and Dundee Stars to complete a full point weekend for only the second time this season.
And while Dixon was pleased to a spring in the team’s step in training this week, he insists the mindset hasn’t changed ahead of Friday’s game with Nottingham Panthers at Braehead Arena (face off 7.30pm).
“It was a big weekend that were really important games and great for all the guys to get the points from them,” he said.
“One thing about the team this year is they show up and work hard every night and that’s never been in doubt so I was pleased to see them rewarded for that.
“Confidence is good and having the goals we scored over the weekend gives the guys a good feeling going into the weekend and we’re starting to see some chemistry.
“The game on Friday, it’s a test of where we are and with just under 20 games to go, we need the points and there’s no doubt we’re in a play-off race.
“We have to approach each game the same way and although there are some tough tests ahead, we know what we have to do.”
Dixon also confirmed recent signings Niklas Tikkinen and Jeff Solow are here and look set to make their debut against Corey Neilson’s side in Friday’s Pride game.
He added: “Niklas and Jeff have been training with us all week and everyone’s excited around the team to have them in and I know they’re keen to get going.
“We’re looking forward to having them in the team and seeing what they can do. Having them will be big plusses for us and I really think they’ll help our team.”
