NEWS: Clan enjoy attendance boost in 2023/24

March 27, 2025

Glasgow Clan have risen four places for average attendance across the European Leagues in the latest statistics released for 2023/24.

The Clan have moved from 112th to 108th in the annual figures released by the European Hockey Clubs Alliance, with Braehead Arena averaging crowds of 3,338 – 92% of the full capacity – throughout last season.

It makes Glasgow the team with the fourth best support statistically across the Elite League after Sheffield Steelers, who rose to 18th from 24th, Belfast Giants, who went from 37th place to 28th and Nottingham Panthers, who fell 11 places to 61st this year.

Clan were also one of only four EIHL sides who saw their attendances figure help them climb the list.

Clan’s CEO Russell Smith was delighted with the figures and says it reaffirms the dedicated fanbase the team has.

“It’s a great story and shows just how much this club has come on over the years since it first began in 2010,” he said.

“As I’ve said before since I came to the club, I’ve been blown away by the level of the support and you just need to see how big the numbers are when the fans come to the arena to cheer on the team.

“It shows the organisation is continuing to move in the right direction and it’s a great reflection of how passionate and supportive the Purple Army are.”
