NEWS: Bolton loving life back on the ice

October 26, 2023

Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan defenceman Jake Bolton says he couldn’t be happier at returning to the ice.

The D-man came out of retirement to join the Clan in the summer and hasn’t look back as he racks up the appearances in purple.

And he addressed the slight quirk where his goals so far have only come in the SSE Arena against the Belfast Giants – one in Sunday’s league game there and two in pre-season.

“It’s been great playing again, travelling the world, seeing the guys and being part of a team again,” he said. “Getting to see the guys again every day and being part of it, it’s been awesome.

“It was something I was around for a little while with the company I run at home in the summer, but being back on the ice and playing again is great.

“Scoring in Belfast has been interesting.  You always want to play well against the best teams and the boys have been good with putting up chances when we need the puck on the net.

“I’ve just been fortunate to put them in the net over in Belfast a couple of times.”

Bolton will come up against some familiar faces in Guildford Flames in a weekend double header, starting at Braehead Arena on Saturday (face off 7:00pm).

But the #19 is focussed on only one thing – well, four actually – over the course of the next two games.

“This weekend, against Guildford, it will be good to come up against some of those guys, who I played with in my time there,” he added.

“While it’s always good to see them and come up against your old team, we really want the four points.  That’s all there is to it.

“Overall, it’s been amazing to be back and playing with the Clan, but I’m really pumped for the games against the Flames.”
