A face off at Braehead Arena

The countdown to the 2025/26 season begins as the Glasgow Clan return to home ice for a double-header of pre-season action across two weekends this August, and they’re set to welcome not one, but two international opponents to Braehead Arena.

Fans can look forward to a pair of highly anticipated fixtures against Danish side Herlev Eagles on Friday 22 August (7:30pm face-off) and Saturday 23 August (7:00pm face-off).

Based just outside of Copenhagen, the Herlev Eagles compete in Denmark’s top professional league, the Metal Ligaen, and have been a mainstay in Danish hockey for decades. Known for their blend of physicality and pace, the Eagles have consistently developed top Danish talent and brought in impactful imports to bolster their competitive edge. These two games offer a first glimpse of the new-look Clan roster in action – and a real test against a side with European pedigree. Clan fans will also recognise a familiar face behind the bench, with former Clan forward Guillaume Doucet (2018/19 season) now serving as Herlev’s Assistant Coach.

Then, a week later, Clan will welcome French side Spartiates de Marseille on Friday 29 August (7:30pm face-off) and Saturday 30 August (7:00pm face-off).

The Spartiates are one of the rising names in Ligue Magnus, France’s top-tier ice hockey league. Founded in 2012, the Spartiates have quickly made their mark in Ligue Magnus, France’s premier ice hockey league. Known for their attacking flair and strong team culture, they regularly draw capacity crowds of 5,000 fans to their home games. We look forward to returning the hospitality and giving them a warm Glasgow Clan welcome at Braehead Arena.

These fixtures mark the first time since the 2019/20 season that the Clan will host international opposition at Braehead Arena during pre-season. On that occasion, German side EHC Freiburg visited as part of the intu Cup – a tournament the Clan went on to win in front of a packed home crowd. The team will be hoping to recapture that same success this time around.

These exciting home pre-season fixtures give the Purple Army the perfect opportunity to come together after the summer break and get a first glimpse of the 2025/26 Glasgow Clan roster in action.

Ticket details along with “After Game Party” info will be announced soon. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates.
