GAME RECAP: GLASGOW CLAN 8 HERLEV EAGLES 2

August 23, 2025

The Premier Sports sponsored Glasgow Clan rounded off the opening weekend with an 8-2 defeat to the Herlev Eagles in the second game in two nights between the two at Braehead Arena.

Lucas Brine got the nod to start the Clan’s second game of the season after Sami Aittokallio outed in the opener.

Herlev got on the front foot early as Anton Johansson opened the scoring just four minutes in before captain, Matthias Asperup doubled their lead shortly after.

Mitchell Heard had an early opportunity to get Glasgow back into the game when he found himself on a breakaway from a long stretch pass by Joe Hazeldine but his shot trailed wide of the net.

The Eagles piled the pressure on Glasgow with two more quick goals as David Karlstrom and Oliver True got themselves on the boards before the end of the first to give the Danes a four-goal lead at the break.

In the second period, the Clan responded quickly with Brett Neumann bagging his first goal since moving North from Sheffield in the summer as he zipped a snapshot from the right circle into the top shelf.

The momentum didn’t last for Glasgow though as Brock Bremer got his second goal of the weekend just under five minutes later.

Karlstrom then scored his second of the game with a fortunate bounce from Forbes’ skate before Isak Goransson put Herlev up by six with a sharp shot from his knees at the left dot.

True also picked up a second goal in the game later in the period when he scored the Eagles’ eighth of the night, Rylan Schwartz went on to grab a second Clan goal in the third period but it was little matter as Herlev departed Braehead as 8-2 victors.
