September 23, 2016

NEXT HOME GAME: Braehead Clan return to action at Braehead Arena THIS SUNDAY when they take on Belfast Giants in the Challenge Cup (6:00pm face-off). Tickets are available NOW via TICKETMASTER, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the Braehead Arena box office.

The Braehead Clan are delighted to announce Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity as one of the club’s official nominated charities for the 2016/17 season.

Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity raises money to ensure that Scotland’s sick children and their families receive the best possible care and experience while at hospital.

The Clan’s home game against the Dundee Stars on Saturday 3rd December will be in support of the charity. It will be the club’s annual Air the Bear event with Braehead supporters invited to bring a soft toy to the game, and after the Clan score their first goal of the evening, the Purple Army are invited to ‘Air the Bear’ onto the ice.

The soft toys will then be collected and distributed around the Glasgow Children’s Hospital just in time for Christmas. Furthermore, the Clan will wear a special edition Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity jersey, with all proceeds from the auction going to the charity.

Clan Hockey & Operations Director Gareth Chalmers commented: “We are delighted to confirm Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity as one of our nominated charitable partners this season.

“The charity do outstanding work to support the young patients and their families during their time at the hospital, so we felt it was a worthy cause for the club’s and the Purple Army’s support.”

Kirsten Sinclair, Director of Fundraising at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We are really excited to have the support of the Braehead Clan and the Purple Army for the season. The club is known for its commitment to the community, and we are looking forward to working together in the coming months to raise lots of support for the boys and girls treated at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital”.
