NEWS: Hartmann – Storm visit suits us

NEXT HOME GAME: Braehead Clan return to action at Braehead Arena THIS SUNDAY when they take on Belfast Giants in the Challenge Cup (6:00pm face-off). Tickets are available NOW via TICKETMASTER, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the Braehead Arena box office.

Braehead Clan assistant coach Richard Hartmann believes Saturday’s game at Manchester Storm suits the team a little more.

The Clan head to Altrincham a week after Omar Pacha’s side won 2-1 in Glasgow and still searching for that first win of the season.

And Hartmann reckons Storm are an improved team from the one they faced last season.

“This game will suit us a little bit more because there are more American style players in a smaller rink,” he said.

“Manchester have upgraded their players and have a more experienced and better squad. They had a couple of good players from last year so they’ve definitely improved.

“But we have the team that can go out there and win. The dressing room is a good one and the guys are bothered by the results, but they need to show that on the ice.”

Hartmann reflected on Wednesday’s loss to Edinburgh Capitals and believes the luck will change for the team soon.

He added: “We didn’t play well on Wednesday. We played the first 20 minutes and Edinburgh have some really skilful players in their team as well.

“We didn’t do the little things either than can help in getting the wins so that’s why we weren’t successful on the night.

“But every game is important, not just because of the situation we find ourselves in. We haven’t had the quality chances and the systems haven’t worked yet.

“Every game is tough right now because we’re down and luck is going against you. But we’ll fight through it, get the luck back on our side and get us back on track.”
