Braehead Clan head coach Ryan Finnerty has this afternoon confirmed that netminder Gary Russell will start in tonight’s EIHL road game against the Belfast Giants.
Russell gets the start, with Swede Michal Zajkowski still out of action due to injury. The Clan will also be minus Daniel Ahsberg (upper body injury) and Trevor Hendrikx (illness) tonight.
Solway Sharks and Paisley Pirates netminder Callum Hepburn has been called up and will back-up Russell.
Gareth Chalmers, Clan Hockey & Operations Director commented: “We’d like to welcome Calum Hepburn into the fold on a two-way agreement with the Paisley Pirates.
“I’d like to thank the Paisley Pirates and Solway Sharks for being very accommodating in allowing Calum to join the line-up this weekend.”
With three imports out of action, the Clan are really up against it this weekend. We need you Purple Army THIS SUNDAY when the Nottingham Panthers come to Braehead Arena (6:00pm face-off).
Tickets are available NOW via TICKETMASTER, by calling 0844 499 1700 or direct at the Braehead Arena box office.
