Weekly Recap & What’s Ahead: Clan Continue Strong Form into Halloween Hockey Night
It was another action-packed week for the Glasgow Clan as they battled through a three-game stretch that showcased grit, determination and some truly entertaining hockey for the Purple Army.
WEEK IN REVIEW
Wednesday 15th October – Sheffield Steelers (H) | 3–2 OT Win
The Clan kicked off their week with a thrilling overtime victory against the Sheffield Steelers at Braehead Arena. Goals from Teppo, Neumann and Fram — who sealed the win in overtime — saw the Clan take the two points after Sheffield’s Tremblay and Gentile found the net earlier in the night. The win underlined the Clan’s resilience, battling right to the end in front of an electric home crowd.
Saturday 18th October – Cardiff Devils (A) | 3–2 SO Win
Saturday night hockey didn’t disappoint either, as the Clan edged another nail-biter — this time in a shootout against the Cardiff Devils. Goals from Sideroff and Langan kept the Clan in it through regulation before Neumann stepped up to deliver the shootout winner. Goaltender Sami Aittokallio was exceptional between the pipes, turning away 96.08% of shots in one of his best performances of the season so far.
Sunday 19th October – Coventry Blaze (A) | 1–2 Loss
The Clan wrapped up the week on the road in Coventry, where a close contest saw the Blaze take the edge 2–1 at the Skydome Arena. Neumann once again found the back of the net for Glasgow, but goals from Constable and Mismash secured the win for the hosts. Despite the result, the Clan’s effort and work rate continued to shine through.
COMING UP: HALLOWEEN HOCKEY NIGHT – FRIDAY 24TH OCTOBER
All eyes now turn to Friday night as the Clan face the Fife Flyers in Challenge Cup action, and it’s set to be a spooktacular occasion at Braehead Arena.
The previous two meetings between the sides both went Glasgow’s way (3–1 and 3–2), but with Fife fighting to keep their Challenge Cup hopes alive, they’ll be coming out swinging. The Clan will be ready to meet the challenge head-on as they look to continue their strong form and keep momentum rolling.
Fans can also look forward to all the Halloween fun off the ice, including a costume competition, limited edition merchandise, and special themed jerseys in what’s set to be one of the most exciting nights of the season so far.
