Weekly Recap: A Tough Road Behind & A Big Test Ahead
The Glasgow Clan returned from a challenging weekend that saw two hard-fought battles yield no points, but plenty of talking points as the focus now shifts to another crucial pair of fixtures.
Friday 5 December – Nottingham Panthers (H)
The Nottingham Panthers opened their three-game Scottish road swing at Braehead Arena, and the meeting lived up to expectations as a tight, competitive encounter.
Goals from Jarůšek, Sideroff and Neilson kept the Clan firmly in the contest, but a late strike from Nottingham’s Mitch Fossier proved decisive.
Despite a strong push in the final minutes, the Clan fell short, ending the night with a 4–3 regulation defeat.
Sunday 7 December – Cardiff Devils (A)
On Sunday, the Clan travelled to the Vindico Arena to face the Cardiff Devils. A difficult first period saw the home side build a 2–0 lead, leaving the Clan with an uphill climb.
Steven Seigo pulled one back in the second period, but the Devils capitalised on their momentum to extend their advantage and close out the game.
The contest carried plenty of physical intensity, with altercations involving Pare & Oligny and Jarůšek & Brandt reflecting the heated nature of the matchup.
Ultimately, the Clan were unable to mount the comeback, suffering a 5–1 defeat and concluding the weekend with zero points.
THE WEEKEND AHEAD
With lessons learned and points up for grabs, the Clan prepare for another significant test both at home and on the road.
Friday 12 December – Cardiff Devils (H)
The Devils return to Braehead Arena for the second meeting in six days. Following a fiery encounter in Cardiff, the Clan will be looking to set the tone early, tighten up defensively, and dictate the play from the opening face-off.
While there are currently no confirmed injury updates, the coaching staff remain hopeful of seeing a little more depth – and strength – in the lineup heading into the weekend.
This fixture also marks our annual Food Bank Drive. Fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items in support of FERN (Feed East Renfrewshire Now), an independent food bank founded and run by long-serving Clan Crew volunteer Dawn Murray.
Saturday 13 December – Sheffield Steelers (A)
On Saturday, the Clan travel south to face the Sheffield Steelers at the Utilita Arena for the third time this season. With a 100% win record against Sheffield so far in 2025/26, the Clan will need to be fully prepared as the Steelers aim to challenge that streak on home ice.
