THE WEEK AHEAD: The last stand
It’s all come down to this. It’s 52 games down and two left and the next seven days don’t get much bigger for Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West.
By this time next week, we’ll know which eight teams will begin their quest for the play-off crown and right now, the hope is Clan will be one of them.
We’ll look at what’s coming up shortly, but catch up with what’s happened over the last few days first:
SATURDAY
Guildford Flames vs Glasgow Clan (Elite Ice Hockey League, face off 6:00pm)
There will be a few twists and turns by the time Clan next hit the ice in Guildford on Saturday, with all the play-off rivals all playing through the course of the week.
Where Glasgow find themselves is anyone’s guess by Saturday, but their objective is a simple one when they rock up at The Spectrum…win.
The huge weekend begins here for the Clan as the race for the top eight reaches its thrilling climax and after Monday’s win in Nottingham, the mood will be a confident one.
SUNDAY
Glasgow Clan vs Cardiff Devils (Elite Ice Hockey League, face off 5:00pm)
Once Saturday is over with, we could come into the final day either with Clan’s fate completely in their hands or a nervy one depending on how things pan out elsewhere.
Like in Guildford, all Jason Morgan’s men can do is win their game and let the cards fall as they may as the regular season reaches the finish line.
Be prepared for the possibility of a dramatic, nervy, tense and any other adjective you can think of for what will be an emotional rollercoaster at Braehead Arena to close out the regular season.
