THE WEEK AHEAD: The final furlong begins

March 28, 2022

We always hear that league campaigns are a marathon, not a sprint, but so little games to go, the pace is definitely picking up for Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West.

Malcolm Cameron’s men are in the top half of the table, but a double header with the league leaders and a huge game against another Scottish rival are to come in yet another busy week.

Adam Keefe and his Belfast Giants visit Glasgow on Tuesday before both teams come together in Northern Ireland then Dundee Stars come to Braehead on Saturday and that really will be huge.

Before we get to those, take a few minutes to catch yourself up with what’s happened over the last few days with the Clan.

TUESDAY: GLASGOW CLAN vs BELFAST GIANTS (7.30pm)

It was a point gained on Sunday so now another chance to try and gain two more on Tuesday when the visit of Belfast Giants begins another hectic week for the Clan.

Malcolm Cameron’s men took a 3-1 win the last time both teams met in January, but two teams with two very different objectives means something will have to give in this latest EIHL outing.

Giants currently top the table and are looking for a victory that could edge them closer to the title while Clan are still in the mix for the play-offs, which should make this one a fascinating contest at Braehead Arena.

Tickets for the game are available on the Clan website and in case you can’t make it (although we’d rather you did), our stream is available too, priced at £15 and can be purchased from Clan TV.

FRIDAY: BELFAST GIANTS vs GLASGOW CLAN (7pm)

A Friday night in Belfast is normally a lot of fun, for anyone who has experienced such a thing and it could be the same this weekend when Clan take the ferry to Northern Ireland.

There could be a hangover from Tuesday’s game, but the respective missions for both games won’t have changed much by the time both sides face in the SSE Arena.

Clan have yet to win in Belfast so a win here would be huge in the final weeks of the season, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet.

If you wish to attend the game, you can purchase your tickets from the Belfast Giants, but alternatively, Giants will run a live stream and you can purchase it from Giants TV.

SATURDAY: GLASGOW CLAN vs DUNDEE STARS (7pm)

The previous meeting between the teams served up something of a treat for fans watching on television, as tempers frayed and plenty of action so can we expect a more serene affair? Probably not.

Omar Pacha’s side enjoyed bragging rights on Tayside a couple of weeks ago and with two precious points available, this promises to be a real blood and thunder affair.

It’s going to be loud, it will attack the senses and it’s one not to be missed when these two get together again this Saturday.

As Tuesday, tickets for the game are available on the Clan website and in case you can’t make it (although we’d rather you did), our stream is available too, priced at £15 and can be purchased from Clan TV.
