THE WEEK AHEAD: Stern tests ahead for Clan

September 25, 2023

There’s plenty for coach Jason Morgan to reflect on after a mixed weekend for Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan but there’s no time to dwell on the past.

A couple of big games are on the horizon for the team as they continue their Challenge Cup campaign plus the 2023/24 regular season also gets underway.

We’ll get to those in due course, so let’s bring you up to speed on what’s been happening over the last few days.

FRIDAY

Glasgow Clan vs Belfast Giants (Challenge Cup, face off 7:30pm)

Belfast Giants are top of the Challenge Cup Group A table after back-to-back victories over Dundee Stars and are coming to Glasgow looking to make it three from three.

However, with a victory against the Giants, albeit in pre-season, it will give the team the confidence last season’s holders can be taken down a notch or two.

Another big crowd is expected for the visit of Adam Keefe’s men so make sure you have your tickets and help make Braehead Arena the cauldron it can be on big nights.

SATURDAY

Cardiff Devils vs Glasgow Clan (Elite Ice Hockey League, face off 7:00pm)

The first league points are on offer as Glasgow make the trip to South Wales to take on the Cardiff Devils, looking to bring them home.

Standing in their way are Pete Russell’s side, who were beaten 4-2 on the road at Coventry Blaze and will look to bounce back immediately.

It’s never an easy trip to the Vindico Arena, but one that can prove successful if all manner of things go right on the night.
