THE WEEK AHEAD: Seeing Stars

November 21, 2022

There’s the winning feeling then there’s the four-point winning feeling for Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West as we enter a new week.

For the first time since April, we’re revelling on the joy of back-to-back victories and hopeful it can be the start of a good run of form.

Before we forward to the weekend coming up, let’s look back on what’s been going on over the last few days:

Glasgow Clan vs Dundee Stars (Viaplay Elite League, face off 7.30pm)

It’s the start of a weekend double header against Jeff Mason’s Dundee Stars when they come to Glasgow for some Friday night hockey.

The Stars won home and away in the two Challenge Cup meetings earlier this season, but a couple of months on, you get the feeling it’s going to be very different for both sides.

With players having come in, players left and – in Clan’s case – a change of coach, the need for points remains the same with poor starts to the season for either team.

Something will have to give in this tasty Scottish derby.

Dundee Stars vs Glasgow Clan (Viaplay Elite League, face off 7pm)

A night later, both Dundee and Glasgow will go at it again, this time within the confines of Dundee Ice Arena as the double header comes to a close.

Any nagging issues from the night before may well come to the fore on the second night, but it will be another entertaining battle between the two Scottish sides.

Without knowing how Friday will go of course, it’s hard to predict quite how this one will go down, but if it’s anything like previous meetings at this fine venue, fans are in for a treat.
