THE WEEK AHEAD: Play-off push intensifies

March 21, 2022

Three points on the board last week and a chance this week to add another six for Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan as we head into the final countdown for play-off places.

Guildford Flames come to town on Thursday in a game rearranged from last Tuesday while we host Coventry Blaze then head east to catch up with our pals at Fife Flyers to round off another busy few days.

So, before we get into those, let’s catch up with anything you may have missed in the last few days:

Highlights: Clan vs Panthers

THURSDAY: GLASGOW CLAN vs GUILDFORD FLAMES (7.30pm)

Like last week, this is the first fixture of another tough week but unlike last week, should actually go ahead this time and Guildford are the team in that not so glamorous eighth place.

They host Fife on Tuesday so could be a couple of points closer by the time they get on the bus to come to Glasgow, which would make it a little more interesting.

Before this season, Clan had never beaten Flames in a campaign so a third win over Paul Dixon’s men really would be uncharted territory. Can they do it? Let’s hope so.

Tickets for the game are available on the Clan website and in case you can’t make it (although we’d rather you did), our stream is available too, priced at £15 and can be purchased from Clan TV.

SATURDAY: GLASGOW CLAN vs COVENTRY BLAZE (7pm)

We know all about the last time the Clan faced Coventry Blaze so we won’t go into that, other than to say, the players will feel like they owe their opponents this Saturday one.

Danny Stewart’s side are yet another team embroiled in this tighter than tight contest with teams lurking around the mid to bottom places in the standings, looking for that run that will take to the play-off promised land.

However, fixtures like this are guaranteed to keep you guessing and Clan, at home, will want to use that advantage to get the points and take the fight on. It’s definitely going to be a big Saturday night this week.

As Thursday, tickets for the game are available on the Clan website and in case you can’t make it (although we’d rather you did), our stream is available too, priced at £15 and can be purchased from Clan TV.

SUNDAY: FIFE FLYERS vs GLASGOW CLAN (6pm)

The weekend ends in Kirkcaldy as Clan visit their biggest rivals and a team clawing and fighting their way back into play-off reckoning in Fife Flyers.

There’s never a dull moment in these fixtures and with that atmosphere and the full blooded nature in which these games are played, it’s bound to be a lot of fun.

Malcolm Cameron’s men are unbeaten against Fife and with the last game in the ‘Auld Barn’ going all the way to overtime, there’s plenty to look ahead to.

If you wish to attend, head on over to the Fife Flyers ticket site to get yours for the game. However, there was no information regarding a webcast at the time of writing.
