THE NUMBERS GAME: Clan at Belfast Giants – Saturday

September 16, 2023

It’s back on the road for Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, when they complete their pre-season programme by taking on Belfast Giants at the SSE Arena.

Both sides met on Friday so we decided to compile some of the interesting numerical facts that emerged from the meeting at Braehead Arena.

Number of combined penalty minutes from both teams in Friday’s meeting, with Belfast taking 16 of those minutes and Clan 12.

The most time on the ice by any player involved in Friday’s game – Belfast Giants’ Charlie Curti who had quite the shift at Braehead Arena.

A four-point night for Giants’ #43, Quinn Preston who picked up two goals and two assists against the Clan on Friday

A bumper crowd came to Braehead Arena for the first game of the season – a pre-season game at that.  Thank you to everyone who came along.

Clan have scored two goals in each of their three pre-season games so far but all six goals have come from different scorers so far

Most number of shots on goal by any players, with two Clan players sharing this particular – Jake Bolton and Philippe Sanche

Number of days since Glasgow Clan won at Belfast Giants.  Clan won 5-3 in an Elite League game in March 2018, with Tyler Shattock scoring twice that day for John Tripp’s side.

Number of face offs won by Robert Lachowicz and Mike Pelech in Friday’s game between the two sides – the most of any Clan players.
