SIGNING: Salisbury checks in for two-way deal

July 18, 2024

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of British defenceman Archie Salisbury on a two-way deal from NIHL National League side Milton Keynes Lightning.

The 17-year-old is an exciting prospect who impressed during his maiden season with Tim Wallace’s side.

He made a total of 42 appearances in all competitions last season for them, including two in the play-offs and picking up five assists.

Archie initially came through the youth set-up at Peterborough Phantoms and has also played in the last two Under 18 World Championships for Great Britain.

Clan head coach and Director of Hockey Operations Corey Neilson is looking forward to seeing more of what the teenager can offer at first hand.

“Archie is a player who gets better and better with every game he plays and I’m pleased to be able to bring him to Glasgow on a two-way deal,” he said.

“Tim (Wallace) speaks very highly of him and as well as the experience he’ll receive in playing in Milton Keynes, I have no doubt he’ll learn a lot from our experienced D-men here.

“He trained with me a couple of seasons ago when I returned to Nottingham Panthers and I’ve coached him at Clarke & Co – David Clarke’s hockey school – since he was a boy too so I know him well.

“I’m looking forward to working with Archie and I want to thank Tim and everybody at Milton Keynes Lightning for their support and assistance in making this deal happen.”

Salisbury will wear the #40 jersey for the Clan in the new season.
