SIGNING: Paré next to join Corey’s Clan roster

July 28, 2024

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Felix Paré for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

The 24-year-old is making the move north of the border after spending the second half of last season with Clan’s Elite League rivals Nottingham Panthers.

Now Paré is counting the days until the new campaign after being well briefed on what to expect in Glasgow.

“I heard so many great things about the organisation from old players and family, not only about the hockey, but the city too, so I’m excited to be making the move,” he said.

“I played against the Clan last season and every night was a tough night there so with Corey as the coach, we can expect more of those.

“Plus the signings he’s made, it’s going to be a good team so it’s been great to see.  The players all seem to have a winning mentality and I want to win too.

“I feel like I can learn so much from the coach and getting to play in front of the Purple Army is going to be a lot of fun.  They’re a special crowd and I can’t wait.”

Paré joined the Panthers from Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL back in January and made 29 appearances, where he scored four times and added five assists.

He ended a two-and-a-half year spell with the Nailers, with whom he signed in 2021, where he played 131 regular season and play-off games and contributed a total of 37 points (12 goals and 25 assists).

Before that, Paré spent just over four years in the QMJHL where he played with the Victoriaville Tigres and Cape Breton Eagles.

His arrival has been welcomed by Clan head coach Corey Neilson, who had some degree of insider information on what Paré will bring to the team.

“I watched Felix play all last season in Nottingham,” he said. “He’s my type of role player, who is fast, physical, tough, blocks shots and can kill penalties.

“Felix is also a right shot center which compliments the group and after speaking with Simon (Deprés) and Joe (Hazeldine), who played with him last season, they stressed how great a guy he was and how much he would add to the group.”

Paré will wear the #28 jersey in the new season.
