SIGNING: Hot shot Haden back for second Clan campaign

June 19, 2023

The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, are delighted to announce the return of last season’s club top scorer, Gary Haden, for the 2023/24 campaign.

The 24-year-old, from Airdrie, Alberta, was a leading light for the Clan in the season just past and his return is sure to delight the Purple Army.

And Haden says the decision to return to Glasgow for a second year was an easy one for him to have to make.

“I am super excited to be back playing in front of the Purple Army,” he said. “For me, it was a simple decision to come back to the Clan.

“I’m really looking forward to working with coach Morgan and putting together lots of wins for the team this season.

“There are going to be lots of happy busses to come this year and I’m so excited to see the buzz around the team from the fans and the signings so far.

“I want to thank the fans for everything last year they stuck behind us last year through everything. It meant a lot and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again.”

Haden’s first pro year in Glasgow turned out well for him on a personal level, finishing the season as the top scorer in points and goals for the club.

After signing from the University of Alberta last summer, Haden made 62 appearances across all competitions, scoring 28 goals and making 25 assists for 53 points.

He also won two awards at the GCA’s, winning the Players and Coaches Player of the Year accolades for his contribution.

Clan head coach Jason Morgan welcomed back the forward and is hoping to see him add more next season.

“I’m delighted to bring back Gary Haden for the new season and he’s a player who is not only a great skater, but has a great talent for putting the puck in the net.

“He’s a smart player who possesses a great shot and I’m looking for him to build on the success he had last season and I’m sure the fans will more than welcome him back.”

Haden will again wear the #23 jersey for the new season and joins Robert Lachowicz, Alex Forbes, Ryan Harrison and Jordan Cownie on the roster for 2023/24.
