SIGNING: Clan confirm Heard extension 

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce a contract extension for popular forward Mitchell Heard, who has agreed to a second year.

The 33-year-old became a fan favourite last season with his big personality, and offensive production.

The appreciation from the stands for Heard is certainly mutual as he spoke of a great experience in his maiden campaign.

“My first season in Glasgow was more than just a great experience—it truly felt like home,” Heard said.

“Representing this city and playing in front of the Purple Army was a privilege and it’s something I do not take lightly.

“Coming back wasn’t just an easy decision—it’s a statement of intent. I’m committed to doing everything it takes to help this team rise to the next level.

“I’m all in. I can’t wait to get back, give everything I’ve got and make this season unforgettable—for the fans, the club, and for Glasgow. Let’s raise the bar and make some noise, Purple Army.”

Heard signed from Slovakian side Dukla Michalovce last year, and was the 41st pick in the 2012 NHL entry draft, chosen by Colorado Avalanche.

He put up great numbers last season, scoring 26 goals and 41 assists (67 points) from 64 games across all competitions.

Clan head coach Corey Neilson welcomed Heard back to the team, and is pleased to have confirmed him for the new season.

“Mitch is a passionate player who wears his heart on his sleeve, and produced well in terms of points alongside his line-mates,” he said.

“At his best he is a dominant power forward. His desire to win is something I wanted in this team and it showed on many occasions.

“I know his return for next season will be a popular one for the fans, who have enjoyed watching him all through the campaign.

“I’m pleased to have Mitch back, and seeing more of what he can do in a Clan jersey in 2025/26.”

Heard will continue to wear the #13 jersey.
