SIGNING: Carruth joins Clan on two-way deal

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of forward Kyle Carruth on a two-way deal from Solway Sharks.

The 17-year-old has impressed for the Dumfries side in the last couple of seasons in the NIHL, as well for Edinburgh Capitals in the SNL and Widnes Wild.

Carruth played 31 games in the NIHL National League with Solway and a further 19 appearances for Widnes Wild in NIHL 1 during 2023-24.

The season before, he supplemented 16 appearances for the Sharks with 18 outings with Edinburgh Capitals in the SNL, not to mention playing in the last two Under 18’s World Championships with Great Britain.

Clan head coach and Director of Hockey Operations Corey Neilson welcomed the teenager to the club and is looking forward to working with him.

“Kyle is an exciting young prospect and a player I have heard a lot of positive things about in the last year or two,” he said.

“He’s still learning the game, but has made a good impression on the coaches he has worked with so far and I’m looking forward to seeing him for myself.

“I know there’s been a partnership between the Clan and Sharks for a few years and this latest deal is a further extension of that so I want to thank Martin Grubb and everyone at Solway Sharks for their continued support.”

Carruth will wear the #88 jersey for the Clan in the new season.

Glasgow Clan can also confirm that forward Matt Barry will not be returning for the new season and wish to place on record our thanks to him for his contribution to the team in 2023-24 and wish him all the best for the future.
