SIGNING: Buesa back for Clan ahead of new campaign

June 23, 2023

The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, are delighted to announce the return of Scottish forward Jordan Buesa for the 2023/24 season.

The 23-year-old is back for a fifth season with the club and raring to go for the new campaign as he looks to impress under the new coach.

And Jordan admits he’s been excited about the changes around the club and is keen to continue his hockey education.

“I’m delighted to be back for what will be my fifth season with the Clan and I can’t wait to back on the ice in September,” he said.

“I’ve been really excited about how things are going and it’s going to be a great season looking ahead where I hope we can be successful.

“I’m also excited to work with coach Morgan in the new season.  His resume speaks for itself and I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from him.”

Buesa first joined the Clan in 2016 under Ryan Finnerty as a teenager and his energy and work rate saw him become a popular player with the Purple Army.

He left the club to join Fife Flyers in 2018 and returned in 2021 following the Covid pandemic and has played a total of 260 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and 10 assists for 16 points.

Last season, Jordan joined NIHL National League side Sheffield Steeldogs and scored 21 goals and 39 assists (60 points) in 39 appearances for them as part of a two-way deal.

Clan head coach Jason Morgan welcomed Buesa back to the team and gave his thoughts on the latest addition to his roster.

“I’m pleased to have Jordan Buesa back with us for next season,” he said. “He’s a young winger who works hard and has a great attitude.

“I think, with continuing experience, he’s going to build on his game and improve and he’s another player I have pencilled in on the fourth line.

“It’s good to have Jordan re-sign and I’m looking forward to seeing what he will do for us in the new campaign.”

Buesa is back in the #12 jersey and joins Robert Lachowicz, Alex Forbes, Ryan Harrison, Jordan Cownie and Philippe Sanche on the roster for 2023/24.
