SIGNING: Another newcomer added as Jameson signs in Glasgow
The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Keaton Jameson as head coach Corey Neilson continues to build for the upcoming season.
The 26-year-old is making his first move to Europe after spending the last couple of seasons in the ECHL with the Norfolk Admirals and Utah Grizzlies.
And Jameson is ready to embrace life in Glasgow, and is excited by the other names who are joining him on the Clan roster in 2024/25.
“I’m really happy to announce my commitment to the team for next season, and I’ve heard a number of good things about the city and the organisation,” he said.
“Everybody the coaching staff have brought in for this season, it has the makings of a really good team, and I’m looking forward to a great year.
“It sounds like we’re going to be treated really well, and the city looks like an exciting place to live and I’ll get to see Scotland. I can’t wait to get over there, get playing and meet everyone.”
Jameson spent last season in Norfolk, where he played 75 times in both the regular season and in play-offs, scoring 14 times and adding 27 assists.
He worked with former Clan alumni Joel Rumpel, the former goalie turned assistant coach, and played alongside ex-forward Mathieu Roy as they made it to the Division Final, losing to Adirondack Thunder in six games.
Before that, he was at Utah Grizzlies, where he made a total of 77 appearances, with 16 goals and 27 assists.
Prior to turning pro, he spent four years with the University of Manitoba Bisons between 2018 and 2022 with 76 games under his belt, and picking up 44 points (seven goals, 37 assists).
His coach there was Mike Sirant, Clan’s recently appointed assistant coach, who was able to provide a first-hand account of what Jameson will do for the team.
“Keats was my captain in Manitoba,” he said. “He’s a great person, a solid character and very much a team guy who is very coachable.
“He’s also really good in the community, and not only is he very dedicated to the game where he’s either in the gym or using video, he uses extra ice at practice to work on the details of his game.
“Keaton also has a good understanding of the game, competes hard and is a solid two-way player. I’m looking forward to working with him again in Glasgow.”
Jameson will wear the #12 jersey in the new season.
