SIGNED: Tikkinen joins the Clan
The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by , are delighted to announce the signing of Finnish defenceman Nikas Tikkinen.
Tikkinen joins the Clan from Danish club Herlev Eagles, where he has spent the previous four season’s.
Clan associate coach Dyson Stevenson spoke of Tikkinen and what he believes he’ll bring to the team.
“Niklas is a puck moving defenceman, who is skilled and can play on our powerplay and has been known to put up some points in the Danish league in the last few years,” he said.
“He can bring more offence to our defence and his points speak for themselves. He’s in good shape, has a lot of experience and he’s someone we’ve been watching for a while.
“He’s played in some top leagues so it’s good to finally get a deal done for him and I expect he’ll play some big minutes for us.
Tikkinen arrives after spending most of the last four years in Denmark, picking up as many as 39 points in one campaign and a CV that boasts spells in Austria, Sweden and his native Finland.
Tikkinen will don the #55 jersey and will be able to ice for the Clan once a visa has been issued & international clearance received.
