SIGNED: #15 Mathieu Roy joins the Clan!

The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of 32-year-old 6’ 0” Canadian forward Mathieu Roy for the 2019/20 season.
Mathieu will be most recognisable to the Purple Army from his four-year stint in the EIHL with the Sheffield Steelers from 2014 to 2018, where he recorded a remarkable 225 points in 203 matches, including 111 goals.
Roy, who was deemed the “King of Sheffield” at the Steelers picked up impressive point totals in all competitions including 53 points in 47 matches in the Challenge Cup, 5 points in 7 CHL matches and 12 points in 14 playoff matches.
Roy has also won numerous awards throughout an illustrious career such as the Kelly Cup in 2011-12, ECHL All-Star 2012-13, ECHL Most Points & Goals 2012-13, EIHL All-Star 2014/15 & 2016/17, EIHL Forward of the year 2014/15, EIHL Most Points & Goals 2014/15, EIHL Player of the year 2014/15, EIHL league champion 2015/16 & EIHL Playoff Champion 2016/17.
Prior to playing in the EIHL, the Quebec native has also been the captain of the ECHL’s Florida Everblades, recording 337 points in 446 matches in the coast.

Mathieu will wear #15 during the upcoming season.
Mathieu becomes the Clan’s sixteenth player for 2019/20, following confirmation that Patrick Killeen, Matt Pufahl, Matt Beca, Rasmus Bjerrum, Jack Musil, Craig Peacock, Scott Pitt, Scott Tanski, Craig Moore, Linden Springer, Jordan Heywood, Jordan McLaughlin, Mikael Lidhammar, Nolan LaPorte and Matt Stanisz having already put pen to paper.
