Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan battled hard but couldn’t produce any points in a 6-2 loss to the Storm.

Liam Stenton had an early chance for the Clan as he fired a backhanded shot on net from the left side but Storm netminder Jeremy Brodeur kept it out.

Stephen Dixon put in a strong performance in the first period, starting off with a huge hit on Stephen Johnson before getting multiple shots on net, but couldn’t find a way past Brodeur.

John Dunbar also had a close chance for the visitors when he received a saucer pass from Jordan Cownie at the backdoor, but it was tipped over by the Storm goalie’s blocker.

Harry Ferguson also impressed in the opening period as he created a strong attacking threat for the Clan as he bullied his way through the neutral zone.

Storm opened the scoring early in the second period as Cole Carter weaved through the Clan zone before teeing up Dallas Ehrhardt for the powerplay goal.

Ty Taylor pulled off a fantastic triple save for Clan shortly after the opening goal as he denied Cam Critchlow’s effort before stopping two rebound attempts.

The home side found a way through again though as Johnson sent a rebound into the net over Kevin Massy who put his body on the line to try stop the shot.

Manchester took a three-goal lead when Michael Korol chipped a rebound puck over Taylor later in the period.

Clan found a response before the end of the period though as Mitch Jones picked up a loose puck in the slot and rifled it top shelf.

Dyson Stevenson put the Clan within one in the third period when he rebounded Jones’ shot high over Brodeur.

However, Storm restored their two-goal lead almost instantly though through Scott Simmonds before wrapping up the game with a fifth and sixth in quick succession though through DeLuca and Barrow respectively to compound a tough night for the Clan.
