Glasgow’s Braehead Clan suffered a loss at home as Guildford Flames came from 3-1 behind to take the points in a 5-3 victory.

Flames began their weekend in Scotland with their seventh win in eight and cemented their top half in the Elite League table.

Clan on the other hand were looking to end a three-game skid and had to contend with the visitors getting the opening goal.

Jesse Craige set up Ian Watters, who hit a crisp shot into the net off the bar as the hosts found themselves a goal down.

Braehead hit back shortly after when a quick break saw Bari McKenzie release an early pass for Ville Hämäläinen, who swept the puck home to equalise.

The home side moved ahead in the second period as Mike Embach took a pass from Adam Brace, took a couple of strides and rifled his shot past Flames goalie Chris Carrozzi.

Then the lead was opened to two with Braehead on a five-on-three powerplay as Tyler Scofield teed up Landon Oslanski, who smashed his effort in from a central position.

Guildford clawed themselves back into the game with a shorthanded goal as Watters picked up his second with a powerful shot.

Then they were level as Kruise Reddick despatch a low effort past Clan goalie Ryan Nie and the game was tied at three.

Calle Ackered put them ahead with a powerplay goal, as Reddick turned assist maker and the Swede also saw a driven effort fly into the net.

Flames rounded things off nicely with Geoff Walker finishing off an empty net goal as the travelling Guildford fans celebrated a big win on the road.
