The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, claimed their third straight win after dominating the Dundee Stars in a 6-1 win at the Braehead Arena.

The game’s start was delayed due to traffic issues encountered by the visitors, but on the ice was dominated by physical hits as Colton Waltz and Steven McParland got themselves involved early on.

Each side’s netminder succeeded in defending their goal as the opening period ended goalless.

It was the Clan who dominated the scoring chances in the game as Anton Svensson was forced to keep out 11 shots from the Clan’s front line in the first period alone.

The Clan’s persistence on the attack paid off in the second period as John Dunbar made a long charge up the left side of the ice before directing the puck into the Dundee net to put his side ahead.

The hosts nearly doubled their lead straight after in similar fashion as Mathieu Roy charged up the ice and was narrowly kept out by the outstretched pad of Svensson.

Craig Peacock eventually did double Glasgow’s lead as he knocked a rebounded puck high into the net after Dunbar put a shot on net.

Dunbar and Peacock teamed up once again as the former grabbed his second of the night, slotting the puck into the net after receiving a pass from the latter from behind the net.

The Stars responded before the end of the second though as they struck the net through Romans Semjonovs while on the powerplay to drop the Clan’s lead to two.

In the third period, Clan struck on the powerplay as McParland sent the puck in after receiving a perfect post-to-post pass from Peacock.

Kevin Massy also put himself on the scoresheet after he bore down on the Stars’ net and guided the puck through Svensson’s pads to claim a fifth for the Clan.

Peacock claimed his second of the night after a beautiful deke move saw him drag the puck around a sprawling Svensson before coolly placing it into the net to make it 6-1.

The Clan rounded off their night with their biggest win of the season and their third straight win as Dunbar claimed man of the match, while Jordan Cownie grabbed his 100th EIHL assist, courtesy of his four assists in the game.
