Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan’s hopes of taking a second straight overtime win this weekend were denied as Nottingham Panthers claimed the late winner and a 6-5 victory at Braehead Arena.
Clan had the better of the opening exchanges when Panthers goalie Rok Stojanovic denied Gary Haden twice within a few seconds.
Then Philippe Sanche saw his effort from the inside right denied by the visiting netminder, with Charlie Combs also going close.
At the other end, Glasgow’s goalie Antti Karjalainen was called into when he had to make saves from Anthony Luciani and Tyler Welsh.
It was the Panthers who opened the scoring as they won the face off in the home defensive zone, where Stephen Anderson took the puck around the net to finish off a wraparound.

Clan hit back almost immediately as Mike Pelech fired home on the inside right to finally leave Stojanovic beaten.
The home side made a huge penalty kill early in the second period, seeing off a five-on-three as Nottingham tried to take advantage.
They did get the next as Simon Deprés finished Didrik Henbrant’s pass to put them ahead again.
However Clan hit back within three minutes as Matt Barry sent Combs through, who smashed his shot into the net to make it 2-2.

Alex Forbes put the home side in front for the first time when Jordan Cownie timed his pass across the crease perfectly for his fellow Scot to finish with aplomb.
Jonathan Paredes’ side levelled as they instigated a quick move up the centre, with Henbrant picked out Hugo Roy to execute the chance.
There were more goals as Luke Lynch swept in a fourth before Roy got his second of the game to tie things at four apiece after two periods.
Luciani got a tip on Jake Ryczek’s attempted shot to divert past Karjalainen to give Panthers the lead again before Haden got in on the act to level again with just under 10 minutes to go.
The game went the distance and while Clan took a point from the contest as it moved into overtime, Ryczek’s shot flew past Karjalainen as the visitors confirmed their win.
