Jordan Cownie’s overtime winner made it two consecutive victories for the Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan, who grabbed an electrifying 3-2 win against Cardiff Devils.
There was a feelgood factor around the Clan players going into the game carried over from Saturday’s 4-2 away win against Sheffield Steelers.
However, the Devils wasted no time putting themselves in front as Joey Martin rifled the puck into the top shelf just 25 seconds into the game.
Clan had multiple chances to put themselves back level through breakaway chances from Steven McParland and Haden, but Bowns kept the Devils in front.

The home side found an equaliser just before the end of the period though as John Dunbar rebounded Gary Haden’s shot before backhanding the puck in off a Devils player’s skate.
In the second period, McParland made a strong drive up the right side while battling with Stefan Fournier but he couldn’t put his backhanded attempt on net.
Gabriel Chabot and Cownie led the Clan’s attacks throughout the period as they moved the puck through the zones with pace on multiple occasions.
It was Cardiff who bagged the next goal in the game though as Cole Sanford fired the puck low past Muse from the blue line.
Clan’s goalie made an impressive save to close out the period as he kept Stefan Fournier’s breakaway attempt out with his blocker.
Muse continued to impress into the third period as he kept a dangerous breakaway attempt from Josh Brittain at bay.
Haden came close to levelling the game after he found the puck in the slot and fired it low on net, but Bowns was quick to it with his pads.
The Clan found an equaliser with just a minute left in the game as Stephen Dixon and Haden traded passes before the Clan’s #23 rifled it home.
In overtime, Cownie took advantage of a late error to slot high into the net for the win, securing the second point and another massive victory in the fight for the play-offs.
