The Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan suffered a brutal loss in overtime to the Dundee Stars after a feisty game at the Braehead Arena.

John Muse started the game off well as he made an electrifying save with his pads as he glided across the crease to keep out a backdoor effort from Elijah Barriga.

Anton Svensson performed well in the Stars’ net as well as he kept out close-range efforts from Gabriel Chabot and Stephen Dixon early on.

Gary Haden managed to break the deadlock late in the first period after receiving a pass from Drew McLean before firing the puck into the net over the sprawling Svensson.

Steven McParland nearly doubled the Clan’s advantage when he picked up the loose puck, but Svensson made an incredible save to keep out the backdoor shot.

Mitch Jones had to head to the locker room in the second period for treatment  after taking a high stick to the face at the boards and didn’t return to the game, presenting another injury worry to an already shorthanded team.

Ben Sokay put the Stars back level when he travelled up through the zones before firing it low past Muse from the right-side circle.

Gabriel Chabot was next to test Svensson when he charged into the Stars’ zone and released a cannon slapshot which met the Stars’ netminder’s blocker.

McParland came close again in the third period when he struck the crossbar with a wrist shot from the right circle while on the powerplay.

The Stars regained the lead late in the game when Romans Semjonovs sniped the puck through the pads of Muse with just over three minutes left to play.

The Clan responded before the end though as McParland wrapped the puck around the net before laying off Haden for his second of the game.

But the Stars claimed the win in overtime when Sokay grabbed his second goal with a rebounded shot just two minutes into overtime to seal the win for the visitors.
