Glasgow’s Braehead Clan ended the weekend with defeat as another trip to Fife Flyers ended with a 5-2 loss.

The mood was high after Saturday’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Milton Keynes Lightning, but John Tripp’s men couldn’t replicate that performance in Kirkcaldy.

James Isaacs was first to get his name on the scoresheet after combining well with fellow defenceman Tommy Muir to put the home side in front.

Then Danick Gauthier did his bit in retrieving the puck for Fife, playing to Ricards Birzins who found Liam Heelis to tap in as Flyers doubled their lead.

Clan pulled one back very early in the second period as a surging move saw Jacob Doty apply the finish with the final touch and give them a way back.

However, Fife upped the ante and a spell of pressure saw them restore their two-goal lead as Evan Bloodoff finished off a third for the home side.

Bloodoff then picked up his second of the night and number four for Fife after being set up by Heelis and turning the puck home.

Then Heelis got his second of the night as he dodged an attempted check by Cescon to roll forward and finish the move himself.

Cescon scored one late on to slightly reduce the arrears with a sweeping shot from the blue line, but the points had long been staying in Kirkcaldy.

Although Mike Embach went close just after which would have made the scoreline a little more respectable, it wasn’t to be for Braehead as another trip to Fife ended in defeat.
