The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, fell to the Dundee Stars in an action-packed game at the Dundee Ice Arena, going down 6-3 in the end.
The visitors got off to an emphatic start as Gabriel Chabot opened the scoring just 24 seconds in after Stephen Dixon fed him the perfect pass from behind the net.
Brad Kennedy dropped the gloves just after the goal as he took on Ian Parker for an entertaining fight that got the crowd excited.
The Stars responded quickly to Glasgow’s opener though as Phillipe Sanche sent the puck home when netminder John Muse failed to readjust after a collision at the net.
Gary Haden put the Clan back in front in similar fashion to the first goal as he sliced the puck high into the net after a pass from behind the net from Chabot.
But once again, the Stars found themselves back level again shortly after as Elijah Barriga sent the puck into the top shelf.
The Stars then took the lead through a rebound goal from Johan Eriksson on the powerplay.
Dundee doubled their lead in the second period on a five-on-three powerplay through as Sanche picked up his second of the night.
Then Barriga also grabbed his second after Drydn Dow and Romans Semjonovs shared some smart interchange play to set up Dundee’s fifth.
John Dunbar clawed one back for the Clan after he dragged the puck beautifully across the crease before poking it past home goalie Anton Svensson.
Steven McParland had a good chance to score after a full-length pass from Drew McLean put him through on net but he couldn’t direct it in.
Chabot also went close to nabbing a fourth for the Clan after his wrist shot was tipped just wide by the pad of Svensson.
However, the Stars made sure of the points with an empty net goal as Parker tucked in clinch victory for Jeff Mason’s side.
