Doubles from Brendan Brooks, Jacob Doty and Robert Lepine helped Glasgow’s Braehead Clan to victory as they took the points in a 7-3 away win at Dundee Stars.

Four third period strikes all in settled things as Clan ended the weekend with their first victory of 2018, despite the Stars’ best efforts.

Jacob Doty put the visitors in front late in the first as he tapped in a rebound after Landon Oslanski’s shot from blue line wasn’t dealt with by the Stars defence.

He added a second in the middle period with a move up the inside right and he continued unimpeded as he finished a low shot beyond Dundee goalie Travis Fullerton.

Robert Lepine got his first goal in Clan colours when Doty’s short pass saw the new boy finish a one-timer to make it 3-0.

Omar Pacha pulled one back late in the second to give Dundee a lifeline with Marc-Olivier Mimar’s powerplay goal early in the third made it slightly nervy for the travelling fans.

However, Brooks’ double seemed to ease the nerves when he scored on a breakaway to make it 4-2 and finished a pass from Tyler Scofield to restore the three-goal advantage.

Mimar’s second of the game provided a glimmer of hope, but Braehead were in no mood to give up any lead this time as Lepine got his second immediately after.

Then Craig Cescon sent one into the top corner against his old team to secure the points as the Purple Army enjoyed a good road win against their Gardiner Conference rivals.
