REACTION: Morgan’s successful first day

May 31, 2023

The news that Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, had appointed Jason Morgan to the role of Head Coach & Head of Hockey Operations has been captured very well as the team look to move into another new campaign.

Morgan’s announcement on Wednesday morning not only had the Purple Army feeling jubilant that things were moving off the ice, but the story also got some mileage across the media too.

BBC Sport Scotland picked it up on their website this morning as the story broke that the club had found their man to take them into a brand new season.

On Wednesday’s Drivetime show on BBC Radio Scotland, presented by John Beattie, Jason spoke about his new role and the potential the club has for success:

Jason also took the time to chat with Gabriel Antoniazzi of Radio Clyde and as well as discussing why he was the man for the job, he also left a message for the Purple Army too

News of Morgan’s arrival was also picked up by STV Sport, who ran with the story on their website as well, showing the interest there is in Clan’s new man.

But of course, there has been plenty of reaction across the fan base, who were quick to offer their welcome to the new coach as Clan announced the news just after 9am, starting with our very own OSC

Deryck seemed surprised to be happy with the news, but acknowledged the positive move by the club

Emma was quick to insert Jason’s name into a well known chant, which may or may not work…

We also noticed one word in particular kept cropping up as fans enjoyed the news from Clan Towers…

Someone was even quick to get on Wikipedia and update Jason’s page

As well as the media interest and positive reaction to Jason, it’s only right we finish with the ringing endorsement that was always going to carry weight within the legion of Purple Army fans.

A former team-mate of Morgan, former captain Matt Keith offered his own thoughts on a man he spoke very highly of.
